Navid Ghorbanpour

Shihan Navid is a multi-time national and international martial arts champion and the head instructor of World Top Martial Arts in Burnaby, serving Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. His teaching blends precision, intensity, and a calm expectation that every student can improve.

He is a certified full-instructor in the philosophy and science of Jeet Kune Do, with training under Jamen Zacharias and Dan Inosanto, Bruce Lee’s direct student and one of JKD’s most important teachers.

His karate background includes a 6th Degree Black Belt in Shotokan Karate, trained under Shihan Mohammad Bahrami, and a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Kyokushin Karate, trained under Shihan Ali Nahrani, a direct student of Kyokushin founder Mas Oyama.

He is also a certified instructor in Kickboxing and Edged & Impact Weapons, with deep experience in the Grappling Arts. Students learn how the disciplines connect: stand-up, ground work, weapons awareness, and practical self-defence taught as one system for sharper technique, stronger health, and better judgement.

Philosophy

Jinsei Do — The Way of Life.

WTMA is built around Jinsei Do: the process of creating a well-rounded martial artist. Traditional martial arts are combined with modern fighting fundamentals — stand-up, ground work, weapons awareness, and the judgement to adapt. The aim is steady growth: sharper technique, stronger health, better judgement, and respect inside and outside the dojo. Osu.

Why WTMA

Ten reasons students stay.

Parents want confidence and discipline. Adults want fitness, self-defence, and a challenge that does not feel random. WTMA gives both a clear place to train.
